Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) For Individuals and Couples
If you are experiencing depression, anxiety or the after-effects of trauma, or want to feel more emotional vitality and well-being, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) can offer many potential benefits. It can accelerate and enhance the progress you have already experienced in psychotherapy, contribute to your psychological health and wellness, and serve as a catalyst for deepening introspection and learning. Whether you are seeking support for yourself or you and your partner or spouse, it can be an excellent adjunct to psychotherapy and serve as a catalyst of transformative change, especially when paired with an ongoing commitment to self-growth, personal development, and healing.
Like other forms of psychotherapy, KAP can be profoundly reparative and life-altering. In addition to its notable efficacy in reducing anxiety and depression, it pairs exceedingly well with practices like EMDR to ameliorate the long-term effects of trauma. It can also be used for psychospiritual exploration and to support general psychological wellness.
MORE ABOUT KAP
KAP can be structured in a variety of ways. It can be administered by a medical practitioner intramuscularly or intravenously in their offices or can be prescribed as an oral medication and taken during an in-person or remote session with a clinician trained specifically in KAP.
Even if they do not administer Ketamine therapeutically themselves, a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner must be retained to evaluate whether an individual can engage in KAP without medical risk. Once deemed safe, the medical provider will prescribe oral Ketamine for use in session with a clinician trained to facilitate Ketamine focused sessions.
MY COLLABORATION WITH JOURNEY CLINICAL
As a clinician, I have been trained in KAP through the auspices of Journey Clinical.
Journey Clinical supports licensed psychotherapists to safely incorporate the therapeutic use of Ketamine in their practices. Many therapists partner with Journey Clinical to support their clients seeking KAP, choosing them to oversee the necessary medical component of the process.
OPTIONS FOR MEDICAL OVERSIGHT
If you are interested in KAP and already work with a psychiatric practitioner who prescribes Ketamine, I can work in tandem with them, however if you do not have a psychiatrist to oversee the medical evaluation and prescription process, I can arrange for you to be seen by a medical practitioner through Journey Clinical.
Once either your own psychiatrist or my medical colleagues at Journey Clinical have assessed and cleared you for KAP, and prescribed Ketamine for your use in session, we can schedule up to two initial KAP sessions. If you find KAP helpful, we can schedule up to six additional sessions once you have had a second medical evaluation. If you wish to continue, a medical evaluation is required every additional six sessions.
I offer KAP sessions twice a month on Friday evenings and Saturday or Sunday mornings — scheduled strategically to offer you the spaciousness to integrate what arises in your session without the typical obligations and commitments many experience during the workweek.
Whether you are seeking relief from depression, anxiety, stress, or trauma, or want to explore this transformative process to access deeper self-awareness and understanding, you are warmly invited to contact me.
My office in located in Alameda, California, however if you prefer, your KAP session can be scheduled to occur in the comfort of your own home using Zoom.
PRICING
Pricing for a medical evaluation and prescription through Journey Clinical ($347), a preliminary intake session ($250), your first two-hour KAP session ($500), and a post-session integration session ($250) is $1347. If you have out of network benefits a portion of these fees may be reimbursable through insurance.
